Update: Jan. 1, 2008New Department of Transportation Rule for Passengers Traveling with Lithium Batteries

The new rule on lithium batteries in air travel, which took effect on January 1, 2008, prohibits carriage of spare lithium batteries in checked baggage, such as large suitcases you hand over to the airline for handling. If you put a portable electronic device in checked baggage, you may still do so with the batteries installed in the device.

You may still carry lithium batteries in your carry-on baggage, provided you follow some guidelines.  For details on carrying lithium batteries in your carry-on baggage, please go to: http://Safetravel.dot.gov or read more...

Update: Aug. 4, 2007: TSA modifies rules

In an effort to concentrate resources on detecting explosive threats, TSA will no longer ban common lighters in carry-on luggage as of August 4, 2007.  Torch lighters remain banned in carry-on.  Torch lighter create a thin, needle-like flame that is hotter and more intense than those from common lighters. The common lighter does not have to be in your baggie even though it does contain liquid. Read more...

Update:  Sept. 26, 2006:

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced that it is adjusting its total ban on liquids, gels and aerosols for air travelers effective Tuesday, September 26, 2006.  There are two significant changes:

2.)  Travelers may also bring items, including beverages, purchased in the secure, boarding area on-board the aircraft.

TOP 3 REASONS TO TURN
TO A TRAVEL AGENT

1. Relief

Your travel agent brings you destination expertise, discounted hotel rates and airfares, all-in-one package deals and exclusive specials and promotions.  Helping you determine your budget and distilling your options is the first relief that comes with working with a  professional travel agency.

2. Savings

Think a travel agent is too expensive?  Think again. Rather than paying more for your vacation, you are likely to pay less and get more.  A good travel agent is your advocate and puts your interests first.

3. Peace of mind

Finally, your travel agent is there for you before, during and after your trip.  And that bonus peace of mind comes at no extra charge.  So, where have you been considering? A tropical island? Mexico? A Hawaiian cruise or tour of Europe?  Simplify your decision-making by contacting your travel agent today.
